There was a flood of immigrants from South Korea starting in the early 70’s to the United States.  They all came dreaming of a better life in America but God had planned something far greater.  God was waiting for them with a promise and hope in Christ.  It was an amazing time of revival with many coming to faith and many churches being planted throughout the United States.  Pastor Dong Suk Chung was pastoring a church in Korea when he was called by God to preach the gospel in the States.  It was through his gospel preaching that God planted Nasung Church in 1981.  By God’s goodness and grace, Nasung Church continues to this day be used by God to proclaim the gospel here and throughout the world.

Now over the years, Nasung Church has had the vision to further advance the gospel in English and that vision is being fulfilled by our Inverse English Ministry.  It is an effective ministry led by our Pastor Rand Cho that is geared towards 2nd and 3rd generation Asian Americans.  God has greatly blessed Inverse Ministry and we believe God will continue to use Inverse to reach many people for Christ for years to come.

At the same time, our church sensed that there was a large segment in our church and in our broader community who were being “under served” with the gospel and also were in need of a Christ centered community.  Specifically, they were 1.5 Korean American adults who were comfortable in both American and Korean cultures.  We believe that this is a critical group to bridge the gap between 1st and 2nd generation Korean Americans, to help transition our church to the next generation of believers and to advance the gospel to Non-Koreans in our community.

The pastors of Nasung began to pray and seek God’s heart.  Pastor Chung had the vision to start the Nasung Adult English Ministry and the church has entrusted Pastor James Shin to lead and serve this ministry.  We believe that this is all from the Lord.

We began our services on Sept 10th 2017 and worshipping Jesus with the believers of N.A.E.M.(Nasung Adult English Ministry) has been a joy to all of us.  We are a gathering of people from various seasons of life and varying cultures unified solely by the love of God that is in Jesus Christ.  The cross is what has drawn us together and we seek to make much of him in every way.  We know that God has started His good work of the gospel in our church and will continue it until the day of Christ!

We thank you for visiting us on our webpage and may our God continue to bless you in Christ.  May God be glorified by His people trusting, receiving and enjoying His Son Jesus Christ!

In His NAME,

Nasung Adult English Ministry

  • We believe in one God, three persons of one substance; Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  • We believe in the divine nature of Jesus Christ, who was both fully God and fully man.
  • We believe in the Holy Spirit who lives within us, giving us the power to live a holy life.
  • We believe the Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God, infallible and without error.
  • We believe that man was created in God’s image, but because of Adam’s sin is depraved.
  • We believe that Christ died on the cross so that by faith in Him alone we are given salvation.
  • We believe that good works show evidence of our faith in Christ.
  • We believe that sanctification is the work of God in the life of the believer.
  • We believe the Holy Spirit gives spiritual gifts to all believers for edifying the Church.
  • We believe in the sacraments of the Lord’s Supper and Baptism.
  • We believe in the personal return of Christ to receive His believers into eternal life.

Nasung Church is a member of the Wesleyan denomination and adheres to the Wesleyan Doctrinal Statement.

The central vision and the rallying cry of our church is “Jesus alone!”  We seek to exalt, enjoy, proclaim, and fellowship around the person, work and message of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  We hope to live out what Paul said in 1 Corinthians 1: 30, “Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption.”  This is why we exist and this is our common vision.

We also hope to have the Holy Scriptures be the sufficient and final authority of our lives.  We believe that God has spoken to mankind through the Bible.  And so, we make it our aim to faithfully study and understand the Scriptures.  We believe that a life and church that displays the beauty and the holiness of God is one that is passionately centered on the gospel but radically submitted to the Scriptures.  The law came by Moses but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

We also believe that God loves the church and that His plan for global evangelization is through the Church.  We therefore believe that the local church is not an addendum to our Christian life but plays a critical part of it.  1 John repeatedly declared that our affections for (the church) fellow believers is a direct evidence that we have have been born again and that we have true affection for Christ.  So we hold highly the gathering together of believers to hear the gospel preached, to praise and pray to Christ, to participate in the ordinances and fellowship in Christ together.

Finally, our heart is to be filled with the Holy Spirit so that we might be witnesses for Christ in our family, community and to the ends of the world.  We are all here on a mission.  This life will soon be past, only what is done for Christ will last.  We seek to spur one another with the love of Christ which compels us to no longer live for ourselves but for Him who died for us and rose again!

Centered on the person and work of Jesus Christ. (Romans 1: 16-17, 1 Corinthians 1: 30-31, 2 Timothy 4: 1-2, Colossians 3: 16-17)

The final authority and complete sufficiency of the Scriptures. (2 Timothy 3: 16-17, Psalms 19: 1-14, Deuteronomy 32: 46-47)

Trinitarian faith: God the Father, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit. (John 14: 15-21; 16: 4-15, Galatians 5: 16-26, Romans 8: 1-17)

The law of Christ: Love one another as Christ has loved us. (1 Corinthians 13: 1-13, Galatians 6: 6; 13-16, 1 John 2: 7-5: 5)

Kingdom now, future and forever. (Luke 17: 20-21, Isaiah 11: 1-11, Daniel 7: 23-27, Revelations 20: 1-6; 21: 1-8)
